Westerbeke power regulation is via capacitors and for the most part isn't
adjustable other than regulating the speed, which I don't believe will
increase the peak power much.
Any thoughts from the group on adding a buck-boost transformer to increase
the peak RMS power and clean up the sinewave power to enable the driving of
a Trace charger?

As has been stated elsewhere here, you might either have the regulator
on the genny adjusted to a higher peak voltage, or get a step-up
autotransformer (a "buck-boost" transformer) strictly to feed the
charger from the genset.
