We have a land yacht in addition to our Atlantic 30. I bought Phifertex plus
mesh grey from Sailrite company (link to Sailrite Phifertex below) a couple
of years ago and made a sun screen for the awning, plus one for end of awning
and one for windshield of the RV. The Phifertex has the advantage that one
can
see out but it's difficult for others to see inside. The weave is such that
the wind can still flow through it but it does cut down on wind, which is
another reason I wanted it for our land yacht... as a windscreen.

You may find it at a better price elsewhere but current Sailrite price is
$12.50 a yard. I bought a sailmaker's sewing machine a few years ago. I have
some Sunbrella screen on flybridge that the thread was beginning to come
loose;
for what a marine upholstery shop wanted to resew the seam, I almost paid for
it in that one repair. It's very easy to sew. I have some white Phifertex I
bought a couple of months ago to make sunscreens for our Atlantic; just
haven't got to that project yet. The current sunscreens are solid canvas-like
material and I don't like the fact that you can't see out. I don't know what
you
would have to pay to have some made for your pilot house. I expect a marine
upholstery shop would want a pretty penny....
