A week or so ago I posted a call for assistance to help me get my TAMD60C
Volvos (in a 48' Offshore) more revs/knots and to get higher boost pressure
readings... I really appreciate the dozens of replies I received, and thank
everyone. Taking all of your assorted advice, I: (a) had a mechanic check the
turbo/manifold pressures and other criteria (he pronounced the engines very
healthy); (b) changed turbo air filters and fuel filters; (c) removed many
hundreds of pounds of chatchky 'knick knacks', and ; (d) had the bottom,
shafts and props cleaned well. Don't know which had the biggest impact, but
on a speed run I saw nearly 20 pounds of boost pressure, 2800 rpm, and 14
knots! I'm thrilled, and I thank everyone for their advice!
