Keith,
In each case it was the anchor end of the swivel that broke. I don't know
what the circumstances were except I do recall that in one case the boat was
being surged in order to break the anchor out, so likely the anchor was wedged
sideways into some rocks because the shanks bent slightly and was replaced
free due to that (Delta 88). I don't know the size chain but would guess 1/2"
for that anchor and I am pretty sure it was BBB or HT and not WASI chain. I may
see this man again within the nest week and will try to get details.
By the way, the guy who runs Swisstech is a super person! No connection.

that's a straight line pull in an Instron or similar tester. I've never used
them, but I've always been interested in them. I use standard galvanized
swivels now, way oversized.
