In order work on my Racor-900MA to thoroughly clean the inside of the glass
bowl, install a water probe and brass drain shutoff I removed the (4) hex
screws for the bowl ring assembly that hold the bowl in place. This allowed me
to easily clean the inside of the bowl, etc.So far so goodb&
However given that the Racor-900MA is mounted vertically I discovered that to
re-attach the bowl I need to align a square cut gasket o-ring (item #3 in
diagram) into a slot on the main assembly (top) while I hold then hold and
align the bowl and bowl ring and re-attach it with (4) hex screws.
See link below for a visual parts break down:

Does anyone else who has successfully done this procedure have a trick or
technique for ensuring that the square o-ring stays in place in its slot on
the main assembly while you align the bowl and reattach the bowl ring?
Advice appreciatedb&
Pete
