Don't blame yourself, Tom. It all depends on your computer and text program.
Some programs produce a continuous line of text, usually 256 characters long,
then automatically insert a L/F. Some insert a L/F every 80 characters (shades
of the old IBM punched card). Most computer e-mail programs automatically
size the text line to the width of the window. Most of the run-on lines or one
word orphan lines are due to incompatabilities between text formating programs
and e-mail clients. As long as it can be read, it's OK.
