Over 100 T&T listees took me up on my offer of a Hudson River Cruising Guide.
A friend of mine in the direct sale mail order business said that this is an
unusually high response rate for a one shot offer. It just goes to show that
if the price is right (free), people will respond.
Some were disappointed that the .PDF file did not include charts of the
Hudson River. To avoid confusion, the .PDF file is a text cruising guide describing
the river, interesting sites, local history, restaurants, fuel stops, and
anchorages. It is about 190 kb. and can be sent as an attachment to e-mail.
The CD contains the Guide in .PDF format and in Word .DOC format, a listing
of marinas, large scale charts of the Hudson River in .JPG format, NOAA BSB
charts of the river suitable for navigation, chart reading and demo navigation
programs for PC and MAC, information on the Erie Canal, a gallery of Hudson
River School paintings, and an album of boating pictures.
The CD is about 170 mb and is far to big to be sent through the internet. My
ISP chokes at files much larger than 1 mb and many ISPs strip pictures and
executable programs from e-mail to stop viruses.
If you requested a CD and sent me your mail address, you will get it within a
few days. If you just want the .PDF file of the Guide, I'll send it
immediately by e-mail.
