I have a pair of Lehman SP225s in my 35' semi-displacement boat that I
cruise at 1600 for about 8 knots and burn around 5 to 6 gals/hour. Way too
much power for this boat, but if need be, I can crank it up to 2400 and
14kts burning about 25 gals/hours - I do not do this on a regular basis.
However, I bring them up to 1800 or 2000 for a bit on occasion just to make
sure there are no overheating issues lurking just outside my normal cruise
speed.
