It's another case of the 15 cent part shutting down the process.
I recently replaced all the valves in my Jabsco/Par 2090 manual head.
In the process of taking off the top end of the pump assembly, the
little 3/4" long spring that is almost like a spring in a ball point
pen, i.e. about 0.30" wide, flew out. Of course, I read the instruction
warning this might happen after I lost the spring!
Par should include this spring in its valve repair kit, but it does
not. Instead, you have to buy a whole pump assembly repair kit in order
to get that little damn spring.
Does anyone on the list have a spare spring that they would be willing
to sell? Or a source for my missing spring? Depco does not sell the
spring separately. Unfortunately, I don't have the springs dimensions
(that would be useful too) or I could try to duplicate it. The tension
of the spring on the flap valve is also critical to whether the pump
will prime or not. Too much pressure and the flap wont lift; too little
and the flap wont seal. Such a predicament. Martin Veiner, Email:
