Leonard:
I agree with replacing parts before they fail and replacing them when it is
convenient for you. I believe that batteries may be getting better or maybe
I am just lucky with batteries. I just replaced my Delco 8Ds starting
batteries with smaller batteries. The 8Ds were starting to have trouble and
I needed to parallel them to start a cold engine. These 8Ds were 9 years
old. I have 4 group 31 Deka Gel Batteries on my inverter that are also 9
years old and just starting to show signs of weakness. They are on my
spring list of projects to replace. This could be just pure luck but I
wanted to share my experience.
I agree with your philosophy but I just wanted to point out that 4 years
might be a little early.
