We went to Seattle in September, 2005, to test drive a North Pacific 42. Not only did we fall in love with the boat, but also fell in love with the Northwest. (Of course, we didn't get rained on during the three days.)
On 9 April, the boat we contracted for will be splashed in Portsmouth, Virginia. The wait has been long, but I am quite sure, worth it. I feel like a kid in cotton country with the county fair coming to town. Now, I can get all the boat stuff out of the family room and onto a boat where it properly belongs.
On Monday, Cloud IX will be lowered from the freighter deck into the water. After a couple of days of shakedown, she goes into the yard for needed fixes. Couple or three weeks later, she's all ours.
One question that lingers a bit in this old mind is how does someone who gets seasick on a regular basis justify spending money on a boat?
