    Sadly this trend seems to be growing, with no end in sight.
    Even expensive equipment is now designed as if it was disposable.
    That may be better for profit margins by manufacturers, but not so good for
    end users.

    Until consumers demand repairable products that actually last a lifetime and
    can be repaired if accidentally broken, we will not see a change. However we
    may stil be in troubel since schools no longer teach hands on skills like
    equipment repair.
    Most mechanics are simply parts exchangers, not someone who really repairs
    worn equipment like engine fitters of old.
