Wayne forgot to mention the most important fucntion of the Kill-a-watt
It will show accumulated watt hour useage. This is important to measure how
much power an appliance consumes in a given time period. This is really
significant in predicting how long a given housee bank can support the
electrical load on the inverter.
Plug in your fridge for 24 hours and you have the actual total consumption
as the unit cycles on / off over the whole time period. Do this for all
appliances connected to your inverter and you can identify the power hog and
also predict how much power is needed from the house bank - inverter system.

Arild
