About 50 years ago MIT's Radiation Lab ran the Millstone Radar facility at
Hanscome Field, just north of Boston. This was the experimental radar that
bounced signals off the moon. The field was in the flyway of the Canada Geese
migration. One of the technicians told me that his Thanksgiving fantasy was to
catch a flight of geese in the million watt beam and cook them before they hit
the
ground. His fellow technicians discouraged him, saying that the stuffing
would not be to their liking.
