Although Origo alcohol stoves are the safest of that type (the alcohol is
retained in a felt-like cylinder under each burner with no pressure) diesel
for Northern (PNW and Maine) climes and propane for all other locations are
the most efficient - more BTUs per unit of measure.
Electric is perhaps the safest, but it requires the running of the generator
and most cooks prefer that the top of the range be flame while the oven is
electric. It's what you want for your cruising ground with the support
equipment (like a generator) you are willing to install.
