Just passed thru Currituck Sound today. Currently we are tied up at Midway Marina enjoying their wonderful FREE Wireless Internet. Here's where the skinny spots are: Between Markers G71 and R86 it remains skinny with 9-10' depths maximum. R82 we saw 7'9" (10/23/06) at mid tide. Also, between G113 and the MM45 sign there is 7'9". There was a sailboat aground that wondered too close to the mark. Luckily they got off when they asked a sm. sportfish to give them a wake.

As our Chesapeake explorations come to an end next week, I've been planning
our trip through thw ICW to New Bern. The only area that is causing me
concern is that section along the Currituck Sound north of Coinjock. Does
anyone have any recent local knowledge about channel depths through that
area?
