I just don't get it. Why would anyone pay $13,000 for insurance when the
liability component is around $200? Put it in your own escrow account and
you'll build quite a nest egg over the years.
I agree that self insuring is a viable option but of course that's a personel
decision based on you ability to withstand the financial consequences of a
major loss. But saying "I just don't get it" When you have no knowldege of the
values insured or any of the other facters involved is well kind of goofy and
you should re think it.
