New York's Staten Island Ferries also have fore and aft drives. In fact, it
is difficult to say which in fore and which is aft since the ferries have
identical pilot houses at either end and the bow and stern are identical as
well.
The boats travel equally well in either direction. The Staten Island ferries
never turn around in normal operation.
