Thousands of RV's use a propane/electric fridge. We have traveled many miles
in ours and have run on gas. it does an automatic change over when we hook
up to shore power. This kind of box is vented over the side and sealed from
the living spaces The only time we shut ours down is when refueling as the
refrigerator vent is almost directly over the fuel fill. Our unit being a
gasser, we get nervous to have that little flame less than 2' above the fill
pipe. We have been looking for a small unit for our boat and it would be
dc/electric as our propane tank is quite small.
