    Try "ticking" the engine over maybe 1/2 a rotation and try the lift pump
    handle again. The internal pump lever may be on the high spot of the
    cam
    preventing the handle from letting the pump work.
    It sould not take too many
    pumps (10 to 20 max) to get the system
    primed up again. Make sure you open
    the bleed screws on the injection
    pump to get the air out.

    What should I see coming out of the lift pump while working the manual
    lever?
    Do you think I may have destroyed the pump by cutting off the fuel
    supply and
    creating a BIG vacuum?
