    (SNIP) So. Based on what I have read so far on this thread I guess I would
    think it would be best to NOT buy a Garmin GPS Eric

    It depends. All I want out of GPS is a position. I use my PC for
    everything else. This means the "brick" USB attached GPS units (Deluo etal)
    make more sense for me. If you are a neo-luddite or hate "confusers", then
    a multi-function GARMIN or some other chart-plotter is best for you...
