    Hello Marin

I'm not suggesting that every vessel is seaworthy if operated in the sea
conditions it was designed for. There are some designs and construction methods
that are supposed to work but don't. When I suggested you take a ride on a
gulf coast shrimper I didn't mean in the North Sea I meant right here in the
gulf in exactly the conditions it was designed and built for. You would find
that most of them when lightly loaded are un stable relying on paravanes for
safety not comfort. A poor design along with poor construction methods and
materials is unfortunately all to common in the commercial fishing fleet.

I really don't think prospective boat buyers will be confused by the idea
that some boats are more seaworthy than others. It's no more confusing than the
idea that some cars are safer than others. If they actually find this
confusing we can only hope they forget about boats and take up golf.
