You Guys should take a ride on a typical gulf coast shrimper in a beam sea
with the paravanes up then tell me how seaworthy they are. Or better still take
a good look at one under construction you might see materials and workmanship
you would never except on your own boats. I can't speak for the crabbers you
guys are seeing on The Deadliest Catch and I can't speak for the PNW either.
And I certainly don't know much about submarines (where did that come from? )
But I have spent lots of time around the trawlers plying the East and gulf
coasts. I have done work on some of them and been in the yards where they are built
and it ain't pretty. Again not all I have seen some good ones to but the
majority are pretty sad in all respects.
