Not necessarily so! An oil analysis really saved my bacon.
There was only 3 hours since an oil change on the boat I had an offer on.
I took a sample. After the offer was accepted I took it in for analysis
thinking I was wasting my time and money. It was positive for antifreeze.
In hindsight I probably did not take a good sample as I probably did not
purge the oil pump / line sufficiently - a good bad sample!!
