    Jeff,
If you are down to bare wood, I brighten with bleach, wash thoroughly
and use cetol light on the cap rails.(the light has less pigment than
the traditional cetol). I am extremely happy with the look and if you
get a nick or rub from a piling, you can just touch up easily.
    Good luck.
    Bob

After many responses to my request for teak ideas, I settled on using
Semco's cleaner and honeytone sealer. It seems like this product is
    almost
impossible to obtain today. The company itself doesn't ever answer
    their
phone. It has a "delayed shipment" status at places like shipstore.com.
I'm worried that this is the wrong wagon to hitch onto...

I've gotten one other suggestion for Deks Olje. That does seem to be
available and in stock. There has also been talk about Thompson's Water
Seal which is very widely available (although there are many different
    types
and it isn't clear which would be appropriate).

For people using teak cleaners/brighteners and sealers on things like
    cap
rails, could you post your recent experiences? It would be most
    appropriate
to talk about products which are being used today because these product
    seem
    to come and go.

    Thanks!

    ...Jeff
