    If it's leaking salt water, it's probably also leaking exhaust gases
    including CO. I'd sure replace it. Also, if you agreed to fix the things on
    the survey report for the insurance company, not doing so can render your
    policy useless. It won't matter whether the muffler was at fault if
    something else happens, but they can deny coverage. You could patch it for
    awhile by wrapping it with resin impregnated fiberglass.
