T&T: cheap and dirty linear actuators

    Mike O'Dell,
     Buy some door lock actuators. You can get them
    VERY cheap and the throw is about 1 inch. If you
    need more throw, just use a lever, or attach it
    closer to the pivot point of the 'flap' control
    lever.
     I will be using seceral of these when I install a
    RV propane forced air furnace. I intend to have
    each section of the boat separately controlled by
    a thermostat and the heater only shuts off when
    all the thermostats agree the boat is warm enough.
