I have installed a 12v fan from a PC inside a cabinet in my boat to help shift air over the metal skin of a domestic fridge / freezer.
The first fan lasted 1 hour before failing and the 2nd about 2 hours before failing. Luckily they are very cheap. Is there a problem using PC fans connected directly to 12V source on a boat? Possibly when the batteries are being charged the fan is getting closer to 14V.
Any solutions would be appreciated.
Thx
John
