Hi All,
I just had a visit from an old friend (past roommate Chuck) who
helped (he did all the hard stuff) me mount a set of 6 X 9
speakers (high efficiency, 95 db at 1 watt at 1 meter) and a CD
player/AM/FM radio that can play CDRs (meaning CDs full of MP3
songs, so I can have about 6 hours of music on 1 CD) and even
display the titles (if I use the right data format).
The player puts out 25 watts per channel (not RMS, so it is
really 12.5) and has line in and line out connectors so I can use
an amplifier if I ever want to. It has a wireless remote control
(I think it is IR but I don't know for sure) so I think I will
be able to operate it from the helm!! I mounted (Chuck cut the
hole) it low and near the center line to allow direct
line-of-sight from the helm to the player. I will have to
memorize the button locations, because it is small and I can not
read any of the captions...
Still. A GREAT DAY!!!
Now all I have to do is wire the speakers and power...
