I have two large Polyform fenders, the round red type, that have become
sticky from sun exposure from the past 3 years. They are still
serviceable, but are transferring their goo to the hull and my hands.

What is the best solvent or cleaner? I can clean their goo off the hull
with mineral spirits, but it is no easy task.

Is there any protective coating that can be added to reduce the
deteriorization? We have covers for all of our tube fenders and that
extends their life by years, but round fenders cannot be covered.

My experience with these expensive fenders have led me to change my
ways. I am going to collapse and store these in the future and only
bring them out and inflate when needed. Wish I had started this
    practice sooner.

BTW, if I never read another post on Racors, it will still mean that I
    have read too many.
