    Garrett,
We have taken a different approach. We have a 10.5' AB hard-bottom. We have
a 15HP Yamaha which will plane off with three people aboard. I have recorded
25kts. on my GPS which is WAY scary. The problem is that its a chore putting
it on and taking it off the boat. When we go to the Keys we put it on and
leave it mounted for the month we are there, towing it during the day.
For cruising the ICW we bought a 2.5HP Yamaha 4-stroke. It is stored in the
cockpit, behind the ladder to the bridge deck. It only weighs about #30 and
we can one-hand it from the swim platform to the dingy. We tow the dink
without the motor and put it on and off daily as we need it.
    Regards,
    Randy Pickelmann
