    Larry,

I have a KR1 and it works fine with my Verizon Kyocera 650 aircard. It
is supposed to work with any EVDO capable card. I know there were some
performance problems with either the PC5220 or the PC5740, can't
remember which. I don't know if they have gotten fixed yet.

I use on the boat with two laptops and a desktop, and it works great.
It does occasionally drop the connection and requires rebooting to get
it back online. No big deal.

The WiFi rubber duck antenna that comes on the KR1 it pretty wimpy. It
had problems transmitting a signal throughout the boat. I replaced it
with a 5,5db antenna ($9) and now the range is very good. I have used
it at our 3,000 sq. ft. home and have coverage in every room.

By the way, we are in your neck of the woods. We are spending the long
weekend on the Tchefuncte, anchored down by the mouth of the river.
Wow, it gets crazy down here. Almost as bad as the Tickfaw River,
which is what we were trying to escape.
