After several years of decent service, I had 3 failures of Cal 1200 pumps in
the last six months. One blew the can containing the motor clean off,dumping
the oli in the bilge. A little Teel pump has been working for a long time,
under the same conditions, running off the same manifold as the Cals.
I inspect the inlets, and make sure it is clean, every month or so.
Are March pumps a better bet for longevity?
Rumors have said that Cal pumps have been sublet to China in recent years.
Any truth there?
