Jeff, yes, for the most part they do. But increasingly they do not
accomodate a cradle/antenna, they are merely handsfree devices using a
wireless Bluetooth connection twixt phone and kit. So shop carefully!

I also have liked using the 555 cards. I acquired a new EVDO aircard
(5220 I
think) it has the external port for the antenna. The connector, however
is
very fragile, broke two of the patch cables. Definitely not up to par
for a
direct connect. That when I went the repeater route.
One other option that just came to me, you could at one time by an
automobile kit for a phone - like at LG 4400, that came with a cradle
that
had a stub to hit the antenna port on the phone when you set it in the
cradle. From the cradle you had a antenna jack, power, speaker and mic
cables that would be hardwired into the car.
Any one know if the current generation of phones have a 'car kit'
available?

Greetings,
Thanks for the informative read! We have been using the DA 4000
with
the 555 Aircard and several cell phones. All subscriptions are with
Verizon.
We have been set up this way for about 4 years. The system has always
worked
well for us. (Wife works aboard). I can relate to some of the previous
post's
indicating Digital Antennas "growing pains". Four years ago, the tech
support was lacking to say the least. I'm glad they are improving cause
their products are fantastic IF applicated properly. I remember making
my
original order and requiring a "combiner" to tether the various phone
cables
together to the DA4000 amp. I did buy the combiner however it was the
wrong
size. Cables would not connect. Even though THEY specified the system
for
me, the useless combiner was impossible to return for the correct one.
I
eventually tossed it.
Last year I misplaced (read lost!) my 555 Aircard and had to
replace
it with Verizon. As everyone knows, they offer several different cards
that
are "broadband capable". I chose to stay with the 555 Aircard because
(without holding one of the new ones in my hand) I could not verify
that I
could connect one of the new broadband cards to the DA4000. My thinking
is
that I cannot. Am I wrong? The extra speed would be nice.
Respectfully,
Ken Williams
