    Hi, Tom:

I have this trouble on SSB only, and only on certain frequencies. I have the
"old" Danfoss/Isotherm 12/24V electronics modules and have been told by
marine refrigeration people (installers/repair types) that "everyone" has worked
on this for years and there is no cure.

    Your thoughts?

    Regards,

    Carl:

Many refrigerator compressor motors do not work on 12 VDC, there is an
converter that converts from 12 VDC to 24 or 32 VDC or AC. These often put
noise on your DC and sometimes radiate RF through the antenna. Disconnect the
antenna, open the squelch, still hear the noise.

Now is the time to try a DC noise filter on the DC line from the refrigerator
    like this. http://www.newmarpower.com/noisefilters/noisefilter.html

Install it right behind the refrigerator, follow the instructions.

Include a couple of bypass capacitors across the power for the higher
frequency elements, .01 uf ceramics will do fine.

If it is radiating RF that is another story. Shielding the inverter is the
    direction to go next.
