If the weather is calm, anchor in the middle of Lake Oneida and go swimming.
It's the best place for bathing until you reach the Finger Lakes (which you
will miss if you are going up the Oswego Canal). In my besotted opinion, the
best commercial beer in upstate NY is produced in Genesee. Their Genesee Ale is a
treat. It must be the water.
