The hull on your 40' Albin is virtually the same as on my 41' Hershine. In my
case a somewhat heavier sundeck version with a hard top. These are very
efficient hull/engine configurations so long as you stay below the theoretical
hull speed. So, yes, your fuel burn estimate is believable if you were running
in the 1400-1600 rpm range or below seven knots. However even if your run was
near 1900-2000 rpm which is in the 7.5 - 7.8 knot range, I'd expect to see you
consumption in the 2.6-2.7 gph range. Still darn good for this much boat!
How did you estimate fuel burn?
