A number of people have requested info on the ICW.

--- All through the Keys (Tortugas and Marquesas included) and even the
passage down the West Coast of Fla. below Ft Myers to Boot Key
    (Marathon)presented no shallow water problems.

--- Several days ago we transited the Hell's Gate area at close to low
tide. It was shallow but certainly no shallower than water that we are
    accustom to cruising in La.

--- Little Mud River area SM 650 655 is shallow at near low water so
we and another trawler proceeded very slowly. NOTE that at high tide a
large coastal cruise SHIP transited the same area and does so regularly
as we have been told!!!! We were anchored for the night as he transited
    the area.

--- Turner Creek/ Hogan's Marina is listed as an anchorage. We tried to
get in at low tide, no way. Later went in in the dinghy to go to the
grocery store. There is no room to anchor and swing there are 4
sailboats that appear to be " permanent" residents and they are each on
bow and stern anchors and there is no additional room.

--- Herb River is a great anchorage near Savannah.

--- Tom Point Creek is also listed as an anchorage. At high tide we
could not get in over the bar ( abt 6 ft tides range).

--- Toogooloo Creek rt next to it is very good anchorage. SM 495

We are lying Charleston at anchor off Municipal Marina. Good anchorage
and close to town etc. Except for the idiots who do not slow to no
wake and that includes trawler styles.

So far as transiting the ICW is concerned the old axiom has held true
"Keep it between the sticks and you will be OK."
