I think that FL will be a problem for owners, especially new owners
since it is getting diffficult if not impossible to find insurance for
hurricane areas. If you want to keep your boat in FL (a least my big
boat) you may have to get an inferior policy from a foreign carrier at
a much higher rate. If we have another bad hurricane season I think
the problem will get worse.
I have an out-of FL-in Summer policy now which is OK for the next few
years but I will want to have the boat at home at some point, year
around.
