    Ron and Arild,

Is there an implication that a US documented boat that has all the
"stuff" the USCG wants / mandates is not enough when that same boat
crosses into Canada for a cruise?

Ron, you missed the need for a compass which must be compensated and
    if more
than 20 miles from shore you must also have a bearing taking device. (
called a pelorus) not to be comfused with a bear catching device.
Now don't confuse bear(ing) with bear(s). One is not the plural case
    of the
    french singular. \

In canada we have adopted the US slang term of "bear" to mean cops as in
Smokey and the Bandits and "Convoy" <VBG> there's a bear in the air
(helicopter) and a bear in the bush ( radar trap)

AS for the increased number of flares. That just goes to prove Canadians
haven't yet seen the light. <VBG>

    Cheers
    Arild
