Actually not so Mike. In my former life as a PC guru for a defense tech
company, we used NT and 2K for the innards of Cruise Missile control
packages. The problems discussed on T&T can usually be traced to a
"mechanical problem": The Nut behind the Wheel!

I submit Bob's comments as evidence to support my conclusion regarding the
undesirability of using Windows as the underlying operating system for a
radar system.
There are thousands of people using these Windows based systems, who claim
they are happy with the systems. I don't doubt that. But before you buy into
this Windowed Nirvana don't ever forget that PC based systems with their
precarious operating systems were never intended to run mission critical
applications. And somewhere in the fine print there is generally some
disclaimer about doing so.
So, go right ahead and bet your life on Windows. As backup equipment, yes,
but not the only system on the boat.
Regards,
Mike
