I had twin 4-53's on my Hatteras LRC and solved the messy OF as follows
#1 I installed a 3/8 Pet Cock on the OF housing (bottom) just remove the
pipe plug and install the pet cock
and you'll be able to drain the filter and housing. Be sure to
loosen the bolt to aid draining.
#2 I also changed to spin offs by using Baldwin OB 1303 adapters and B95
filters a nice upgrade.
