In a nutshell, we secured ourselves a seat at the table with the town
council.
the impressive showing of FOH filled the room as the council allowed each
member to
speak.
much praise should go out to Dan Farnsworth, Jon Nomer and the other
speakers,
especially Tom Baglini(sp?) who was last and I think summed up the whole
issue.
We need to meet on the mainland soon, and we have invited the chief of
police to join us
to help him in his efforts to police the area. He has graciously accepted
our offer.
the chief and the town manager were heard stating how nice the group was
after the
meeting.
The rock star moment came when darryl got up and summed up the legal points
to
developing the area.
We even had Christopher D'Ovidio, from the Conservation Law Foundation in
attendance
(not representing CLF, just interested in our cause). He is the guy that
worked on the
towns behalf and CLF in fighting the Champlin's case.
If anyone can I think it would be good to send a thanks e-mail to Darryl and
Chris for
attending on our behalf.
we won on 2 fronts last night,
1) we secured an open line of communication with the BI town council.
2) we royally pissed off the harbormaster, but gained a friend in the police
chief.
GREAT JOB FOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
