Steve asked for experience with Salt Away:

I use Salt Away every time I come in from the salt water. It's applied by a
hose end sprayer that mixes the solution with water from a garden hose. The
mixture is via venturi effect, so it's consistent in its delivery. I bought
the hose end system provided by Salt Away, but I'm sure any hose end sprayer
with soap attachment would work, it's just an issue of mixture. I can't say
for sure that Salt Away is the great cure to corrosion, but I've been happy
with it's ability to cut through salt accumulated after a few weeks of not
washing the boat in the Canadian islands. I also use it to flush small
    outboard motors, with great results.
