We are looking for secure dockage along the St. Johns river for the summer,
which will also be convenient to our home in Ocala.
In the past, I have read a great deal about the St. Johns and believe that it
is navigable as far south as Sanford, FL, nearly 200 miles south of
Jacksonville. However, I do not know the details of depths, bridge heights,
etc.
Who has the best cruising guide for coverage of this area?
How far south can you carry an air draft of 17 feet?
Are there any public marinas on the west side of Lake George? Welaka? Salt
Springs? Kenwood? or Orange Springs?
Any local knowlege or reference sources will be greatly appreciated.
