I did on a Garmin, and yes it worked. Bought the boat, gps didn't work.
Someone had crammed the threaded part onto a standard plumbing thread fitting
...etc, cracked, water ran out of it. ETC
Took it all apart ....literally, had to split the plastic heat weld seam,
cleaned it all up including any residue on the circuit board, its a small
preamp, and RTV'd it back together. Of course in the meantime I had acquired
another handheld and another remote antenna ...but.
