We have the Asko washer & dryer which we have enjoyed for years and they
recommend low-sudsing detergents like Fresh Start, Fab, All & Amway. My
wife prefers Fresh Start and since using it in the washer, a skin rash
has cleared up nicely. We can't imagine cruising without the washer &
dryer. BTW, you can add a tablespoon of TSP (a phosphate) for a cleaner
low suds wash, it was the primary ingredient in Tide and Spic 'n Span
    years ago.

    >>>I did a lot of research on this a year or so ago. We lived aboard and
    after
the phosphates went away we were getting a lot more suds. The reason you

are getting all the suds is because there are no phosphates. There is a
washing machine forum out there (yeah, I know) and you can find it on
Google. They have people that actually have found a source for the
phosphates and they add them back in because they produce a much cleaner

wash. Apparently commercial laundries are exempt from the phosphate
    rules
    so other people buy these.

Short of this I think your only choice will be detergents made
    especially
for front loaders. These produce less suds but more than I would like.
