Snip from Jeff:
"GSM/GPRS/data connections (Cingular, AT&T) should be available
everywhere
along the coast now. Higher speed GPRS data connections are pretty good
out
here on the Penobscot Bay. I would be surprised to hear that GPRS
wasn't
available along the Canadian East coast except in the most remote areas
where no cell service exists."
That's more or less what I have heard. We use Verizon as do my kids etc
so I don't plan to drop it yet. But we'll be doing the St. Lawrence
circle this summer I am curious to know whether the best approach would
be to get a Cingular or other prepaid card for the summer and the
cheapest phone available with an office kit with a USB data cable. Any
suggestions most welcome.
