We replaced our rotted wood mast on our DeFever 41 with a 12 foot piece of 3
inch OD aluminum Pipe and it has worked great. You could but wire at west
and swage it yourself. We carry a 50 sq ft sail on ours that really helps
take the roll off. Since we had a mast we already had a tabernacle and it takes
almost no time to drop it. put the steaming light and the radar as high as
you can, also mount spreader lights. With our mast up our air draft is 22.5
feet and with it down it is 15.5 feet.
    George
