Hi Ron,
Likely most people would use the middle position and "forget about it." I'm
guilty of leaving the mud palms off my Fortress because it didn't fit the
holder with 'em on and I don't anticipate anchoring in soft mud. Likely I'd have
less damage dragging ashore in muddy areas than in sand or rocky bottoms. I
wonder if people actually adjust adjustable anchors according to the
bottom...I'd bet not.
I'll be interested to see if the Bugelanker (WASI) was tested...it usually
isn't. Best all-around anchor IMO. I should get one while I'm here...

some reason they set to the middle position in spite of the fact that
the CreativeMarine web site clearly states that the top position should
be used for soft mud. I wrote them - we'll see if they reply! They top
rated the XYZ also the Hydrobubble.
